Step 1: Welcome

This is Heroes Bootcamp!
A game that is all about controling your fantasy army.

This is a simple prototype to test the core mechanics.

Battles are conducted between your army and the enemy army.

Your job will be to set up your team before the battle,
once the battle starts, you cannot interfere.

Whatever happens - happens.

Step 2: Turns

A battle continues until only one side - heroes or enemies has soldiers standing.

Your army and the enemy army will take turns, starting with your top soldier followed by the enemy top soldier.
Then turns continue to alternate as you go down the line.

We will show you an example of a battle round in the next step.

Step 3: Round Example

(If you want to see the animation again click "replay" button above)

As you see, your characters and the enemy characters alternate in taking turns attacking each other.
When a character reaches 0 HP, it is defeated.

The battle will continue over multiple rounds until one side has all of its characters defeated.

By default, characters aim for the topmost target.

Step 4: Traits

Up until now, we've shown you the higher ups.
But for most of this game, you'll actually have to deal with rookies who are still in training.

And even worse... These rookies are from a special unit that deals with.. shall we say soldiers with unique circumstances?

All your rookies have issues - psychological or otherwise.
Your hero's mental traits affect their behavior during combat.
You can see an example with Chad:

Automysophobia (Fear of being unclean)
Inflicts 50% less damage if not in max health

Envious
+10% damage against faster opponents

Fastidious (very concerned keeping gear clean)
Deals double on his first attack in combat

These mental traits always take precendence over any other issue.

Step 5: Ready to start?

Now you get the concept of the game - it's time for you to go over to the missions page!

Chapter 1 - Missions 1-10
Your rookies will face an army of goblins and orcs.

In this chapter, you will pick which heroes to send to battle and in what order.

Chapter 2 - Missions 11-20
Your rookies will need to escort a VIP to safety from a snowy land dealing with an army of arctic animal hybrids.

In this chapter, your heroes and their order will be fixed, but you will be able to control when their abilities trigger.

Chapter 3 - Missions 21-30
Your rookies will be dealing with demonic summoners and must stop their ritual before they call an unstoppable force.
In this chapter, you will give your rookies instructions on how to pick their targets.
